Pluriliteracies approach for CLIL education

European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) has worked on a pluriliteracies approach for CLIL education for several years. The approach focuses on developing disciplinary, i.e. subject specific literacies. The approach and model is developed in a project CLIL and Literacies and is especially aimed at CLIL education.

Literacy in content subjects means learning the subject specific languages and, consequently, being able to communicate that knowledge across languages.

Pluriliteracy can be defined as multiliteracy in different languages.
